BGC skin clinic safety guide red flags credentials Philippines

BGC has over 50 beauty and skin establishments. Not all of them are safe. Not all of them are honest. This guide exists because the gap between a great clinic visit and a damaging one is often just knowing what to ask — and what to walk away from. BGC's premium reputation does not automatically guarantee a premium standard at every establishment within its borders.

RED FLAG #1 — NO PRICE INFORMATION BEFORE TREATMENT

A legitimate clinic will give you an estimated cost before you consent to any treatment. If a clinic tells you the doctor will discuss pricing during your visit and then presents you with a bill you were not expecting, that is a designed sales tactic, not a medical practice. What to do: ask for a written treatment plan with pricing before any procedure begins. If they hesitate, ask why.

RED FLAG #2 — PRICES THAT ARE TOO LOW

The BGC price floor for legitimate laser treatments is approximately ₱3,000–₱3,500 for a basic session. If someone is advertising a Carbon Laser Peel for ₱800 in BGC, ask what device they use. Proper laser equipment costs clinics hundreds of thousands of pesos. Low prices in the aesthetic space usually mean one or more of: unlicensed practitioners, unregistered devices, diluted injectables, or reused single-use supplies.

RED FLAG #3 — INJECTABLES NOT ADMINISTERED BY A PHYSICIAN

In the Philippines, injectables — Botox, fillers, IV drips, intralesional injections — must be administered by a licensed physician. BGC clinics are generally compliant. The risk is more common in home-service or pop-up providers advertising on social media. What to ask: 'Who will be performing the injection?' and 'Can I see their PRC license?'

RED FLAG #4 — PRESSURE TO BUY LARGE PACKAGES IMMEDIATELY

A clinic that pushes you to commit to a ₱30,000 package on your first visit — without adequate assessment, without knowing how your skin responds — is prioritizing revenue over outcomes. A responsible clinic will often suggest a trial session before a full series. If they are good at what they do, you will return willingly.

RED FLAG #5 — NO CONSULTATION BEFORE TREATMENT

Your first visit to any skin clinic should involve a skin assessment. At minimum: the practitioner looks at your skin, asks about medical history and current medications, and identifies what you actually need. If you book a facial online and staff starts immediately without asking any questions — you are in the wrong place.
